    The Forest School program at Channing School began seven years ago and has since expanded to cover reception through year four. The program offers a wide range of outdoor activities and equipment in a mature garden/forest setting. The evolution of the program has been driven by the interest of the pupils and the recognition of its value in their development. The teachers involved in the program are passionate about being outside and have a variety of outdoor skills. The Forest School provides opportunities for the children to engage in activities such as pond dipping, whittling, tree climbing, and rope swinging. The program promotes creativity, imagination, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. It also aligns with the broader curriculum, complementing subjects like history, geography, math, and art. The Forest School enhances the students' well-being, physical activity, and connection with nature.
